It's almost Valentine's Day and we've finally gotten around to uploading some new Valentine Love Buddies online. We thought we'd introduce you to a few. Meet Daisy. 'Daisy likes making friends on Facebook, road trips and picnics. She has an impressive collection of teacups, is afraid of superglue and dislikes jelly fish.'

Here's Penelope. Penelope is a bright, funny and caring little buddy who loves to gossip and exercise on her Wii! She enjoys swimming, badminton and is obsessed with updating her Facebook page. Penelope's favourite colour is orange and her favourite word is “smurf”.

Wally's Christmas Vacation!

We hope everyone had a fab Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Wally recently returned home from his Christmas vacation and is very excited to show you all just a few of his travel snaps! He went to Las Vegas to do Christmas American style - he was super impressed with all the Christmas decorations. This is the biggest tree Wally had ever seen.........

Wally was sure to get his wish list sent off to Santa early. He thought this special mail box was very cool!

Although not usually one for shopping, Wally did enjoy his trip to the shopping centre to check out a few items on his wish list. Who did he run into - none other than Santa himself! Wally was very excited to meet him, although he appeared to be very busy and wasn't very talkative. Still Wally was keen to get his photo taken with him to impress all his friends.

Wally liked spending time at the Venetian Hotel's very festive Winter Wonderland. He wanted to have a go on the ice skating rink but he only has very little legs and there were no ice skates in his size.

Wally was hoping this was going to be his Christmas present!

We’ve had a great time doing our Christmas fairs this year. Lots of buddies found themselves new homes and were adopted into good families. We sold lots of mini monsters – almost 150 in just a few shows...pheeeww that’s a lot of sewing!

We’ve done a lot of school events this year and our buddies enjoyed meeting all the kids.

They liked getting lots of cuddles and enjoyed all the attention - they’ve never felt so popular!

There’s been a lot to see and do to get us in the festive mood. Brody enjoyed having his photo taken with this adorable donkey dressed as a reindeer and he got to meet Santa too, much to the envy of his buddy friends!

Many mice pies were eaten and our buddies enjoyed checking out the other stallholders. They were particularly fond of these cork reindeers!

We’ll be taking a few weeks off to recharge our batteries and restock our sock collection before we begin stitching again. We’re excited to try out some new ideas and test some new designs.

Don’t forget to send us your pictures of you and your buddy, whether you’re just at home or out and about on your travels. Buddies love action and adventure and make great travel companions!

So now that our Christmas fair season is coming to a close we would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who bought a buddy. We look forward to a successful 2012!

With that time of year again and our Christmas shows fast approaching, we decided to knuckle down and get ourselves organised. Some new mini monsters and sock aliens were on the 'to do list' and our biggest priority......eyeballs!

We went for some much needed retail therapy and bought some fabulous buttons from our fav little craft shop - Puddleducks. They have soooo many quality buttons to choose from and we love how they store the different colours in these cute glass bowls.

We sorted through our little selection and made up some preliminary eyeball selections for our monsters. Then it was time to whip out the felt and prepare some felt eyeballs for the child friendly mini's.

Now it's just time to sew the monsters themselves. Pheww.......back to the sewing machine!

Wally's Chicago Adventure Part II

Wally was up bright and early ready for another day squeezing in as much of the Windy City as possible. He was sure to pack his map so that he didn’t get lost!

Wally checking out the Chicago Trolley Tour, he was happy to get a seat upfront and was very excited to check out President Obama and Oprah’s houses....big fan!

Wally at the Hard Rock Cafe! Can you see the famous Sears Tower in the background? Wally decided not to go up there, heights aren’t his favourite thing and it was a looooong way down!

Wally is a huge movie fan so was very excited to do the Chicago Movie Tour and check out the locations of some of his favourite flicks.

On a beautiful day Wally enjoyed taking a peek at Lake Michigan......

and checking out Michigan Avenue at the heart of the city.

Wally had a brilliant time in Chicago and hopes you enjoyed checking out some of his holiday snaps. Chicago is a beautiful and friendly city and he highly recommends it to everyone! If you’re off on your travels, think about taking a sock buddy friend with you. As Wally shows, they love to travel and aren’t camera shy!

Wally's Chicago Adventure Part I

Wally has just returned from his fabulous summer vacation in Chicago. He was sure to pack his camera and took it everywhere with him. He's super excited to show you his travel snaps and hopes you'll have as much fun seeing them as he did taking them.

The night he arrived in the windy city, Wally decided to get into his very comfortable hotel bed and do his research and read up about Chicago. He wanted to be well prepared and be sure not to miss anything.

First up was a walk (well Wally was carried, he can be a bit of a diva and his legs are only little!) around downtown Chicago. Check him out at the Wrigley Building. This was his favourite building, sooo pretty and he knew his sock buddy friend Wrigley would get a kick out of this photo!

Wally at the entrance to Millennium Park - he knew the Bean was just around the corner and was very excited.......

Wally and the world famous Chicago Bean! He was very impressed, in fact the Bean was Wally's favourite part of Chicago - it was just so big and shiny!! He was hoping for a photo a bit closer but with all the people around he was a little worried about getting squished!

Checking out the beautiful Chicago River and the city's many bridges!

Although he gets seasick, Wally was keen to go on the city's River Cruise.

After a long day of sightseeing Wally had a craving for a slice of authentic Chicago Deep Dish pizza so went to the locally recommended Pizzeria Uno, yummy!

It's always exciting to get a new collection of socks, all ready and waiting to be made up into cuddly buddies. We had almost sold out of our always popular mini monsters so decided to spend a little time making up a fresh batch. These colourful little guys are our new favourites!

Wally - the beach buddy!

Despite it being the Summer, the weather hasn't been too good lately. So when the sun popped out from behind the clouds Wally decided it was time to hit the beach! Lots of other people obviously had the same idea and Wally was excited to make some new friends! Wally was keen to go swimming and check out the speed boats, but he decided that next time he was going to pack his wet suit - the water was cooooold (and sock buddies aren't particularly suited for the water)!If anyone has any pictures of their adopted buddies out and about or on their travels we'd love to see them! Catching some rays......

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, so Wally decided to pop outside to catch a few rays. He wanted to brown up a little and get a nice tan for the rest of the summer! Of course he smothered himself in sun cream first and made sure to wear his sunglasses!

A few of our little buddies decided to make the most of a gloriously sunny day top pop down to the local beach. Lincoln was very excited, this was his first day trip!

Jefferson was amazed by the colour of the sea - he'd never seen it before. He couldn't wait to check out all the rock pools...... .....but Lincoln beat him too it. He was very careful not to fall in tho - sock buddies don't like to get wet. The water was so inviting that Regan wanted to have a little paddle in the sea - but after he stuck one toe in he decided it was a bit of the chilly!Lincoln was super excited to check out all the pebbles on the beach. He'd been looking forward to trying a bit of pebble balancing all day........ After a little while finding his favourite pebbles, he managed to build a nice little pebble monument! He was very impressed with his effort and had lots of fun.
Our buddies had a great day out at the beach and can't wait to take some more of their friends to check out some other local beaches later this summer.

Charlie is very excited to have been chosen as the organiser of this year's Sock Buddy Easter Egg Hunt! He's so keen to get started that he's already been out and about looking for the best hiding places for his choccie eggs.

"Eli is a shy little monster who likes peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches, playing in the mud, collecting paper clips and hanging out with his best friends - his stuffed toy monkey Miguel. Eli is afraid of germs and his favourite word is blubber."

Wally on his visit to Ikea.....

Wally went on his first road trip yesterday when he decided to tag along to a trip to Ikea. It turns out he is a very good traveller and didn't mind the long journey....he particularly enjoyed his mid-morning non-fat decaf hazelnut latte!

We finally arrived and Wally couldn't wait to stretch his legs and see what Ikea was all about.

After a looong time walking around, Wally decided it was time to put his feet up for a rest.

With Wally's almost obssesive love of organisation and order, Ikea's warehouse was like heaven! He even made a few friends along the way.

Wally has been excitedly awaiting the first Daffodil of the year. He's been keeping his eyes peeled and checking on this little bud daily. 'Buttercup' is the daffodil he has decided to adopt as his own!

and what do you know, today was the day! Our first Daffs of the season have appeared, whoopee! Wally is very pleased because he knows what that means....the Easter bunny isn't too far away!

Sometimes we finish making a buddy that is so adorable that we just can't part with it. That happened today when we finished Wally!

This little guy has become the newest member of the eckel and noo family. He's settling in nicely and is looking forward to lots of cuddles and cups of tea (yes buddies can be addicted to caffeine just like the rest of us!). ahh, the lovely white stuff!

It's finally snowing! We don't often get settle snow so wrapped up in their winter scarfs, a few of our little buddies decided to head outside for some fun!

Hooley's arms were a little too short to make a snowman, so he decided to make some snowballs instead. It took him a long time but he was very pleased with his efforts. He managed to build himself a nice snowball pyramid!

He had to be reminded repeatedly NOT to lick the snow!

Luke and Marlon then decided to join in and use his newly made snowballs to have a snowball fight.....much fun was had by all!

Christmas Fair Update

After a busy few weeks we've come to the end of our Christmas shows. It's been an eventful few weeks with back to back fairs in a number of local schools and colleges - they were so much fun and lots of sock buddies found new homes for the holidays. Thanks to everyone who came out and did their holiday shopping. It's great that so many people still love to give handmade one of a kind gifts and help support us crafters!

Last night was our last show of the year. Every buddy wanted to have a last chance to find a new family so they all managed to squeeze themselves onto the table. There were a few fisticuffs as some of the buddies jostled for position at the front, but overall they were all happy to be on display!

So a huge thank you to everyone who took home a buddy. We hope they'll make fab Christmas pressies or great new additions to your family, and don't forget, why not send us a photo of your buddy in it's new home and we'll feature you on our blog!

So now we're taking a couple of weeks of for Christmas and then we'll start back up stitching ready to re-stock our stores for the New Year. Here's to a busy 2011!

Christmas Show Update

We're almost half way through our Christmas Shows already. We spend all year planning and stocking up and they fly by soooo quickly! This past week we had a crazy busy and somewhat manic school fair in Taunton which proved to be very successful!

Our mini monsters continue to sell like hot cakes and we managed to get 35 adopted in just under 2 hours! As we were packing up to leave we were greeted by a heavy snow fall which made the fair feel even more festive (even if it did make the drive home very interesting!).

Yesterday we had a good day at a fair up in Somerset. It was an early start setting off to the show and it was cooooold (-2 we were reliably informed!) We were a little worried about what the turn out might be after weather reports of heavy snow but in the end there was not even a flake and lots of people braved the chilly air to come out and support the event.

Lots of sock buddies found new homes and are looking forward to being stocking stuffers this Christmas. Halfway through the day we sold out of our popular mini monsters, so now with only a handful left, we're going to be busy stitching away for the next few days to get ready for another action packed and fair filled week. I think a trip to the shops might be needed, our sock pile is looking a little low...........

New Winter Sock Buddies

For the past few weeks we've been knocking up a range of new Winter Buddies. Each little fella has their own hand knitted detachable scarf to keep them nice and warm during the winter. They are currently featured in our shop window at Dawanda.

The knitting has been a lot of fun and a nice distraction from all that sewing - still - it can soon become addictive! We've managed to whip up quite a few scarves now and althought they're quite time consuming; we think they definatley add a little something extra to our buddies.

Ringo and Willis couldn't wait for them to be finished and just had to get started choosing out their favourites.

It was all fun and games until they both decided that they liked the same scarf and a tug of war began! They soon made up and decided to share - they are buddies after all!

Still, even applying in April, many of the larger events are already full!! We're hoping to attend as many shows as possible around Devon so we'll keep you updated. On a recent trip to LA we were stunned to come across the most incredible shop selling hundreds of funky socks. It was like nothing we had ever seen before so we whipped out our camera for a photo!

With sooooo many different types of socks on offer, we couldn't help but think of all the wonderful little sock buddies that could be made. There were stripey socks, spotty socks, fluffy socks, socks with toes.......ah so many to choose from.

After a long time looking around we finally managed to pick out a few pairs. We're excited to get stitching and see what little creations can be made. Puck particularly liked these girly stripey socks and has put in a request for a new girlfriend!

New Stock at Otterton Mill

Popped up to Otterton Mill today and were very pleasantly surprised to see our little basket of Sock Buddies was almost empty. That means lots of our little guys have found themselves nice new homes over the holidays! Our sock monsters and aliens have proved particularly popular....they are hard to resist, they're soooooo quirky!

We have restocked our shelf with some new buddies, so if you're in the area (Budleigh Salterton) why not go take a peek. It's well worth a trip up there, Otterton Mill has lots to offer and the gallery is chocked full of fantastic crafty bits! In the next few weeks we will be adding some new Vampire Buddies for Halloween. It's been great fun creating them.....hopefully you guys will like them as much as we do. Puck's Summer Vacation Travel Snaps

Puck has just returned from his summer vacation in Vancouver and is very excited to share some of his travel pics with you all. Never one to shy away from having his picture taken, his camera is his best friend!

After such an exhausting day of exploring, Puck decided it was time for a much deserved refreshment! He fell in love with these cute little cupcakes (http://www.cupcakesonline.com). Soooo many flavours to choose from, it took him a while to decide, he wanted a little lick of each!

New Stock at Canonteign Falls

It was that time again when we needed to go and restock some of our buddies at Canonteign Falls.

After a busy couple of months, most our buddies had sold which was great news, although some were not so fortunate......

After what must of been one heck of a good squeeze, Ernie looked a little worse for wear - one of his eyes was detached....yikes! It was time for him to come home and undergo some minor surgery to restore him to full health. Undeterred, he is looking forward to returning to the store and meeting up with some of his friends, all of whom are looking for nice new families.

We've just entered Finn into Dawanda's Colour of the Month. The colour selected for August is white and entries must be predominantly this colour. Only 10% of another colour is allowed. We though Finn fit the bill perfectly and he's chuffed to have been chosen!

We have a number of fairs over the next few weekends so it was time to start restocking on our most popular buddies - our mini aliens. Today we were on eyeball duty - spending hours cutting out felt circles and stitching them on. It's not the most fun part of buddy making, but it's a necessary job!

After todays efforts, we think it might be a good idea to invest in some sort of felt cutting tool! Still, it's nice when all the little guys have their eyes sewn on and they are finished and ready for adoption. They're perfect for kiddies with little hands who like to give them a good squeeze (or use them for a game of catch!). So anyway, enough distractions, back to it.....

Our First Fair of the Year

We had a great day at the Dunsford Show yesterday. We managed to get ourselves organised for our first fair of the year and all the buddies were labelled and packed away the night before. For many of them it was their first time at a show so they were all really keen to impress!

The fair was good fun and lots of people came out to support the show. The weather was fab, the sun was shining (for the most part!) and there was lots to see and do. Lots of mini monsters made new friends and we were pleased that a number of our new larger aliens found home too. Ozzie the sock bear is even on his way to Australia and is super excited. He's already practising his Australian accent......g'day!

Many of the buddies are excited coz it’s that time of year again....Wimbledon!!! Howie is a particularly keen tennis enthusiast and although isn’t great at playing (his arms are a little short!), he loves to watch! He’s looking forward to two weeks of sunshine, tennis action and some strawberries and cream!

As well as watching the tennis on TV, he also enjoys a good munch on a tennis ball!

Some of his sock buddy friends bet Goober that he wouldn’t fit into the tennis tube......of course Goober decided to prove them wrong,

but try as he might, he couldn’t seem to find a way in!

Sock Bunny Ellie was recently adopted by a great family. They were kind enough to send us a photo of her enjoying a day out at Venford Reservoir. Ellie was excited to catch up with a couple of other buddies her new family had previously adopted and see how they were doing. Puck's Travel Adventures

Puck was very excited to be the first among his Sock Buddy friends to go on vacation - Las Vegas whoo-hoo! He took along his camera to take some pics for our blog. As you can see, he's quite the poser.

He enjoyed going on the open-top sightseeing bus, feeling the wind in his hair, he thought it was quite an adventure!

Snack time was always Puck's favourite part of the day! Although initially overwhelmed by the choice of coffee beverages, Puck soon became a coffee aficionado.

He developed quite a sweet tooth and enjoyed choosing out his afternoon pastry!

After sampling many of the coffee drinks on offer (a caramel machiato was his least favourite), Puck decided Iced Coffee was his coffee beverage of choice!

It didn't take too long before he got bitten by the gambling bug. He had to learn to budget his spondoolies and not get carried away. Althougth he only won a few dollars, to Puck he hit the jackpot!

Puck was very amused by the modern art and never missed an opportunity to get his photo taken!Now that Puck is home, he's very excited to show his Sock Buddy friends all his holiday snaps and tell them all about his adventures. He's even considering starting up his own blog!

We finally managed to squeeze in a quick shopping trip to buy some much needed new socks. We just looooove picking out the funky ones - there are sooooo many different colours and patterns, it's easy to get carried away! Hopefully this new haul should keep us busy for the next few weeks....time to get stitching.

Zachary is looking forward to meeting some of his new friends. He can't quite believe this simple pile of socks (and a lot of hard work) will soon be little buddies themselves!

Of course, the little troublemaker that he is, he got a bit too excited and decided to build a sock fort which was a little structually unsound!

Happy Easter everyone! This is only the buddies second Easter so they were very excited and super impressed with their Easter Egg haul this year!

Dexter was very pleased with his egg and won't let it out of his sight. He's never been big on sharing! He rather likes the shiny wrapping foil and hopes to use it to make a superhero cape!

The buddies decided to throw an impromptu Easter party and have over some of their friends. As usual, Wade was very popular with the chicks!

So we're very excited to finally have some snow! Whilst the rest of the country has had it for weeks, down in the South West we barely ever get a flake so the buddies were very excited to wake up this morning to see lots of the lovely stuff.

Happy New Year to all our followers! 2009 turned out to be a bit of a surprise year for us. Having been making our sock buddies for just over a year now we never imagined when we started that people would love them as much as we love creating them. The Christmas period was absolutely crazy with many late night stitching sessions and more than a few mild panic attacks preparing for our shows. Now with 2010 just beginning, it’s a great time to start afresh! Let the stitching begin……

We’ve decided to start the New Year as we mean to go on....organised! Before Christmas it looked as though there had been some sort of craft explosion with ribbons, buttons and bags and bags of stuffing all over the place! Our office/workroom is well overdue for a ‘spruce’ so we’re gonna give it some much needed T.L.C.

Not only is our workroom getting a makeover, but so to is our Sock Buddy Collection! We’re experimenting with new designs and this year we’re looking forward to introducing a new range of holiday themed buddies. With Valentines Day, Mothers Day and St Patrick’s Day fast approaching we’re stitching new little buddies in appropriately coloured designs. We’re particularly keen to try out some Easter bunnies! It should be interesting, we’ll see how they work out, keep your eyes peeled…...

Our little sock buddies are very excited to be celebrating their first Christmas. They’ve gotten quite carried away with the pressie decorations and are having lots of fun!

A few of the buddies were a bit mischievous and decided to wrap Buckley in tinsel....

Our Christmas Shows

Well it’s been a crazy few weeks doing Christmas fairs and we thought we’d share a few pics! It’s been hectic but we’ve loved every second of it and wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have taken home one of our buddies!

We were really looking forward to our first fair of the year. We’d spent months stitching our little fellas and we were excited to see how people would respond to them! It turned out our aliens were particularly good little sellers which was great since they were the newest addition to our troop! Curtis enjoyed digging into his mince pie….hmmmmmm, they’re his favourite!

Next up it was Saltram’s Yuletide Fair. It was a cold, dark and very wet weekend but plenty of layers and lots of hot chocolate (with mini marshmallows of course!) kept us warm. Lots of our buddies were given a good cuddle and found themselves new homes.

We were excited to have been invited to Moretonhampstead’s Christmas festivities. We weren’t sure what to expect but the turn out was great and lots of our little guys were excited to become stocking stuffers! We had mince pies, carol singers and the Christmas lights turn on to keep us entertained….

During a rare slow period, Brock decided to get a head start with his online Christmas shopping. Never one to be unprepared, his sidekick is his best friend! Unfortunatley he’s currently battling a rather nasty addiction to eBay and Christmas isn’t an easy time for him!

We’ve done looooots of school Christmas fairs this year as our litle guys have always proven popular with kids. They like to give them a good squeeze! A big thank you to all the local schools who held fairs this year and allowed us to showcase our buds!

The Topsham Christmas Market was the last fair of the festive season and we didn’t hold back. Every buddy left was piled onto the table for one last chance to sell themselves! No-one wanted to be left un-adopted!

Our online stores are looking a little empty right now.....we’ve been sooooo busy at our Christmas Craft fairs the past few weeks that most of our buddies have gone. Of course that’s great news but it means we are stitching like crazy to keep up with demand!! We want to say a big thank you to those of you that bought some of our little fellas, we’re sure they’ll make great Christmas presents and they look forward to stuffing a few stockings!

The Christmas season is on its way so we’re busy stitching like crazy to get together a bunch of new Sock Buddies to take to our Christmas fairs. It’s been a long old week emailing and phoning around trying to book up our places at this year’s craft fairs and markets. Spaces are tight and as always there’s a lot of competition so were thrilled to have received such a positive response.

We’re looking forward to a crazy-busy Christmas period! Our calendar is fairly packed and we may have been a little optimistic in some of our scheduling but we can’t wait for this season’s shows to get started. We’ll keep you updated with a list of our events and we hope to see some of you there!

First up we’ve been confirmed for the Uffculme School Christmas Craft Fair. It takes place on Saturday 21st November and runs from 10am – 4pm. School fairs are always lots of fun and our sock buddies are hoping to make lots of new friends!
